Mt.Yoteizan
Mt.Yoteizan is a beautiful independent mountain 1898 meters high, belonging to Shikotsu-Toya National Park. It was called Mt. Shiribeshi-yama (後方羊蹄山) as seen in “日本百名山:One Hundred Prestigious Mountains in Japan” by Fukada Kyuya. It is a stratovolcano in a completely conical form called 蝦夷富士, one of the local Fuji, as well. It is an active volcano designated newly in 2003 according to the modified definition of the volcano. It stretches to four towns and one village and there are four climbing routes available.
